William Addison Dwiggins dabbled in everything from puppetry to advertising design and illustration. His varied skills served him well in book design, where he balanced illustrative elements with clean typography and generous white space. This book, a labor of love, is an ode to his mature and compelling style. In addition to manipulating Dwiggins’ illustrations, I designed the book’s layout, conducted the biographical research and wrote the content. With the book’s completion, I realized that Dwiggins was my mohawk-toting graphic design role model.
